People have reached for the moon and stars for inspiration for many centuries, so it's no wonder that celestial themed events are so popular! From the child's "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" (a great baby shower theme, by the way!) to "Dancin' in the Moonlight," there are Star and Moon themes in literature, music, movies and everyday life. We've got lots of celestial theme ideas to consider...and stars and moon favors for parties and celebrations of all kinds!

"Fly me to the moon and let me play among the stars"...maybe that song was before your time, but singers and songwriters in every age have their variation on the celestial theme.

How about Madonna's Lucky Star? Or Sting's Moon Over Bourbon Street? Earth, Wind & Fire sang "You're a Shining star, no matter who you are." Moondance, Moonshadow, and Ticket to the Moon are other ideas for celestial themes that come from songs. And if you favor the bygone era, Swingin' on a Star and Blue Moon are other possibilities!

 Suppose you don't want a song? There's plenty of poetry and prose with celestial musings.  How about Shelley:
I arise from dreams of thee
In the first sweet sleep of night
When the winds are breathing low,
and the stars are shining bright.

Shakespeare is also great inspiration: "How sweet the moonlight sleeps upon this bank!"

Moonlight and stardust are part of our everyday language. The rare event happens once in a blue moon...the happy day makes us over the moon. To aim high is to reach for the stars, anticipating good things gives us stars in our eyes, and to want too much is asking for the moon. If it's fated, it's written in the stars. And if we get what we want, we say we were born under a lucky star or we thank our lucky stars. Why not incorporate some of these ideas in your theme party and your favors?
