![]() Gifts of the Magi Bath Salts |
| Customs, Tradition and Faith Most of us were brought up with certain customs, often inspired by our religion and heritage. Passed from generation to generation, these practices become tradition and provide meaningful ways to connect with loved ones and our shared history. Customs and tradition also bring us those "tried-and-true" treatments and remedies that people have appreciated for centuries. Herbal mixtures, oils and butters, mineral salts and essential oils all have their place in the personal beauty kit; many beneficial ingredients have also found their way to the bath from the kitchen. |

"...and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh." Matthew 2:11 |
| Nearly everyone is familar with the gifts that the Wise Men (or Magi) brought. Some say they symbolize the three roles of Jesus: gold for the king, frankincense for the god, and myrrh for the man. While some associate these gifts with Christmas, others celebrate Twelfth Night or Three Kings' Daythe beginning of the Feast of Epiphany (from the Greek "manifestation")remembering that Jesus' divinity was manifested or revealed to the world by the visit of the Magi. Gold, frankincense and myrrh were customary Epiphany gifts for centuries (especially among royalty). Revive this tradition by celebrating the Twelfth Day of Christmas with Gifts of the Magi bath salts! Our Dead Sea salts are fragranced with frankincense and myrrh (tree resins from the Middle East used in incense, anointing oils, and perfumery for centuries) and packaged in a gold organza bag. The gift card includes Matthew 2:11 (see above) and a space to share your own message. Packaged in an 8 ounce bag or in 1.5 ounce favor (or stocking-stuffer) bag. |

| Milk and Honey Gift Sets The land of Canaan was described to Moses as a good and large land "flowing with milk and honey," Exodus 3:8, a reassurance that they were heading to a land of plenty. In the land they were leaving behind, honey was food for royalty (and, at least for Cleopatra, milk and honey were necessary ingredients of a beauty regimen). Egyptians placed honey in the tombs of the Pharaohs to accompany them on their journey. From Lower Egypt, the "land of the bee" more than 5,000 years ago, to Napoleon Bonaparte's red cape, bees have long been incorporated in the symbolism of royalty. Bees were also an Egyptian symbol of the soul, and represented the divine as symbols for gods in India, Greece, and Rome. |

Oats, Milk & Honey Bath
One of Cleopatra's beauty secrets was milk and honey baths. The lactic acid in milk acts as a gentle exfoliant, while honey is a humectant, drawing moisture to the skin. We've also added skin-soothing oats to the mix, and a wonderfully subtle oatmeal, milk and honey fragrance that you'll love. You can leave the world behind and be the "Queen of the Nile" (or is that denial?!) after a long soak in this bath! |

Lavender Luxury Gift Tub
From Roman baths to the French and English countryside, lavender has a rich history as one of the most well-known, versatile herbs. It's been described in literature, early Herbals and even Nursery Rhymes (who could forget that "Lavender's blue, dilly dilly"?). Though it's also been used in cooking and medicines, we're taking advantage of its aromatic properties in this luxury gift tub. This set has a little of everything: lip balm with infused lavender oil, sugar scrub, bath salts, and body lotion, all with the fragrance of lavender essential oil. Gift tub also includes a wooden scoop and lavender pumice stone and is shrink-wrapped and tied with ribbon. |
"...find a cleanly room, lavender in the windows, and twenty ballads
stuck about the wall." -- Izaak Walton, The Compleat Angler, 1653-1655 ![]() |
