| Asian theme weddings often include common regional elements rather than details specific to a particular country or people. For example, red is an auspicious color in both China and Japan, and is often used in wedding celebrations in both countries in clothing as well as decoration. Popular Asian wedding decor & favors also include lanterns, crane motifs, and chopsticks, as well as floral arrangements with orchids, peonies, bamboo, cherry blossoms, or lotus blossoms—significant in a number of Asian countries. Our favors are designed with some of these elements in mind so they will coordinate with your theme. |

While Chinese and Japanese culture share some elements and motifs, there are also many wedding traditions unique to each culture. Dragon and phoenix symbolism is a popular decoration for Chinese weddings, particularly on wedding dresses. The character for “double happiness” also is commonly featured on Chinese wedding accessories and favors. While Chinese weddings don't usually use white (this is a color for mourning in China), the Japanese consider red and white a happy color combination and use both in their celebrations. Japanese brides often carry fans, one of many traditional engagement gifts; the opening of the fan into a larger shape symbolizes a happy future. The cherry blossom or sakura also figures prominently in Japanese culture and is a beautiful motif for an Asian themed party or wedding. Our balms are made with almond oil, coconut oil, beeswax, avocado oil, olive oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, Vitamin E, essential oils and/or other flavorings and colorings. Please try to allow 1 - 2 weeks lead time for us to prepare your favors (but contact us if you're in a rush—we can often accommodate your schedule). |
